We make Atelier Studio, so read this as a comparison written by one of the two sides. We have kept it to what each company publishes, dated every figure, and been plain about where Jackrabbit is the better fit. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

Pricing: student count vs flat plans
The biggest structural difference is how the bill grows.
Jackrabbit prices its core plan by your total student count each month, including inactive students (archived lead families are excluded). Its entry tier is $49 a month, which makes it one of the least expensive ways for a small studio to start. As enrollment grows, you move into higher tiers.
Atelier Studio charges a flat plan price that does not change with your roster: Community at $99 a month or Academy at $199 a month, with unlimited active students on both. The trade-off is a higher starting price than Jackrabbit’s entry tier, in exchange for a bill that does not move when you add a hundred dancers.
If you are a small studio and expect to stay that way, Jackrabbit’s entry price is hard to beat. If you plan to grow, add up what each costs at the roster you expect in two years.
Payments: whose account the money lands in
Jackrabbit’s integrated payments run through its partner processor, Jackrabbit Pay. Rates are quoted per studio rather than published, and Jackrabbit offers to meet or beat a studio’s current rate.
Atelier Studio sends every card, debit and ACH payment to the studio’s own Stripe account. Stripe’s published rates apply, and our transaction fee is small and capped: 0.1% per transaction, capped at $1 and never more than $100 a month on Community, or 0.75%, capped at $2 and never more than $250 a month on Academy. Because the account is yours, the payment history and the customer relationship stay with you if you ever leave.
Recitals, costumes and the mobile app: where Jackrabbit is ahead
Two things Jackrabbit has today that we do not:
- Recital and costume management. Jackrabbit handles recital order, programs and cue sheets, and posts costume fees to family accounts with sizing and purchase orders. If your season is built around a big recital and you need that now, Jackrabbit is the stronger choice. Full recital and costume management is on our roadmap, not shipped.
- A branded app in the app stores. Jackrabbit Plus includes a custom-branded mobile app. Atelier Studio is a mobile-first web app that families and staff use from their phone’s browser; our native staff and family apps are in progress and not in the stores yet.
Jackrabbit also has a much longer track record and far more published reviews. That matters when you are trusting a platform with your studio’s billing.
Where Atelier Studio is different
- No per-student pricing, so growth never raises your software bill.
- Your own Stripe account, with a capped transaction fee.
- Graded levels and placement on every plan: give classes a level, gate them to dancers who are ready, and let dancers request placement for you to approve.
- Booking on the website you already have, with one script tag.
- Free Setup Mode: up to 30 days to configure and import before your 14-day trial starts, and we migrate your data for you at no cost.
- Atelier Encore, which emails the dancers most likely to want a last-minute open spot so classes fill themselves.
Which should you choose?
Choose Jackrabbit Dance if you are a small studio that wants the lowest entry price, you run a recital-heavy season and need costume and recital tools today, or a branded app in the stores matters to your families now.
Choose Atelier Studio if your roster is growing and you want a price that does not grow with it, you want payments in your own Stripe account, or you teach in levels and want placement built in.
Either way, ask both for a demo with your real class schedule. See our full dance studio software page or pricing for the details on our side.
